More and more universities are asking university application to submit an activity or student resume’. Like a professional resume’, an activity resume lists your participation in organizations (e.g. Student Council) and any leadership positions you’ve held. When I was young, the 1st question adults asked me was "What do you want to be when you grow up?" If your parents, teachers, and relatives are asking you this same question and you have no idea how to answer, then it's time you got some expert advice.
The following is a guest post by Nadeem Ahmad, Managing Director of Career Solutions International FZE. Nadeem is gifted career counsellor that can help you find your way. He is an Australian citizen with nearly 12 years of experience in career management services from Australia and the UAE. Nadeem holds a Master degree in Psychology, has completed British Psychological Society’s accredited Level A&B in Psychometric Assessment. Nadeem is also a member of Career Development Association of Australia and has been quoted in The National Newspaper. So, obviously, he's super qualified to help you choose a career.
Here's what Nadeem has to say:
Studies have shown that most high school students and their parents are perplexed while choosing the ‘right’ higher education courses. Their confusion is multiplied by the fact that over 30% of the first year university students either drop out, as they cannot meet the demands of the course, or change their course in the second year because they simply did not like it.
Career Solutions International FZE is a Dubai based career assessment and guidance service helping high school students make right career choices. At Career Solutions, we understand that their confusion is somewhat justified for a number of reasons:
In order to provide you with a suitable career direction, Career Solutions uses internationally recognised Psychometric Assessment tools, administered face to face. We start by assessing your interests, values and personality. This enables us to gain an understanding of the type of work tasks, industries and work environment that best suit you.
We also assess your abilities to gain a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses compared to other people in the workforce.
We then identify the careers and courses you are most likely to enjoy, and give you an action plan to help you on your path to a fulfilling career.
Need help choosing a career? Check out the Career Solutions website at www.careersolutions-intl.com and then call Nadeem for help. After you know what you want to do, call APPLY ME at 04-311-6830 and we'll help you get into the university undergraduate, graduate, or MBA program that will boost your credentials.
Here's a question we are asked frequently:
Should I apply to MBA programs in Round 3 or 4?
We’re 17 days into the New Year and Round 2 deadlines at many business schools have already passed. If you’re debating whether to apply in Round 3 or Round 4, we’ll make the decision easy for you: apply in Round 3. Here’s our most compelling argument:
In our opinion, the early bird gets the worm. If you can’t apply in Round 3, think about applying for the next year (Round 1, of course) and make sure that business school is really something you want to do.
